Funeral Help and Advice

What is direct cremation?

The simplest funeral option is direct cremation. Instead of a personal farewell, the cremation occurs separately. Direct cremation allows you to come up with a much closer and more personalised service without the time pressure of a regular funeral. A lot of people want to organise the memorial or celebration of life service later, so it is perfect for them.

If you need our services, we’re here when you need us the most. We also offer a planning service for individuals who are looking ahead to their future funeral arrangements.

  3. We work with GPs to make sure the essential forms are completed
  4. Once all the arrangements have been finalised, we will arrange the cremation.

Help with Funeral Costs

If you are on qualifying benefits, Funeral Expenses Payments may be available from the DWP. You should also keep in mind that other factors could affect your eligibility for a successful claim.

In England, the maximum funeral payment will cover cremation fees + any doctor’s fees + up to £700 towards funeral provider costs

It is advised that you apply for this by phone on 0800 731 0469 as soon as possible.

As soon as you are eligible for funeral help, Capital Cremation will provide an immediate provisional date plus a full and final invoice the DWP needs to process your claim and begin paying for your funeral. Kindly note that we are not able to start looking after someone that has died in hospital until the DWP has confirmed that a payment will be made. This can take up to 6 weeks.
